Begin with wrapped animal remains or the museum’s current term. Do not assign species from ears, length or bundle shape.

Photograph section text, labels and complete bundles. Present adjacency may be thematic and does not prove shared find context.
Locate technical evidence
Species, contents and preparation require radiography, CT, osteology or excavation records attached to the exact inventory number.
Avoid condition diagnosis
Visible textile loss or dark areas are observations, not proof of active change. Follow museum rules and professional sources.
Respect presentation
Avoid sensational captions and decorative cropping. Identify museum, date, object category and reason for publication.
Preserve source layers
Keep visible-light, technical image and diagram as separate credited sources. State what each can and cannot show.
Record orientation and support
Photograph how each bundle rests in the present case. Current mounting does not establish ancient placement.
Separate technical methods
Radiography, CT, osteology and visible-light images answer different questions. Name the method, source and exact object.
Check chronological claims
Bundle style cannot securely date remains from appearance alone. Use archaeological and collection records and preserve uncertainty.
Use respectful layouts
Avoid grids that turn remains into repeated decoration. Provide enough context, factual captions and a clear educational purpose.
Publish a source manifest
Attach object number, museum term, technical study, capture date, creator, rights and missing views. Keep exterior and contents in separate fields.
Prepare a return list
Mark hidden profiles, uncertain label matches and unresolved reflections. Return only within the public route and current rules; do not substitute a similar nearby object for a missing view.
Check the object-source match
Before leaving, compare the whole object, label and inventory number. Outside the gallery, verify terminology through the exact official or scholarly record and date that source.
Publish the field boundary
State museum, date, route, camera position, crop, missing surfaces and whether species or identity comes from the cited record. The boundary note makes the animal image reusable without pretending to complete the object.
